Bubalinda is geen toevallige naam. Het is de samensmelting van Buba Mballow en Alinda van der Kooi: twee namen, twee werelden, één gedeelde overtuiging dat iedereen recht heeft op onderwijs, voedsel en zorg.
Het begon klein, met een persoonlijke wens om iets terug te geven aan de gemeenschap in Gambia. Wat startte als losse acties, een schoolboek hier, een voedselpakket daar, groeide uit tot iets groters. In november 2024 werd de droom officieel: ABS Charity Foundation, een geregistreerde stichting onder de Gambiaanse Companies Act 2013.
Vanuit Kerewan Samba Sira in de Central River Region ondersteunen we kinderen op school, helpen we vrouwen in moeilijke tijden, en verstrekken we voedsel, zorg en gereedschap waar het nodig is. Onze missie is helder: een gemeenschap waar elk kind naar school kan, elke moeder gehoord wordt, en elk gezin een waardige basis heeft.
Wij geloven dat hulp pas écht hulp is als hij direct aankomt. Daarom ontvangen onze bestuursleden geen vergoeding, zo staat het in onze statuten en zo houden we het. Elke euro die binnenkomt, gaat naar de mensen die het nodig hebben.
Bubalinda is not a random name. It's the fusion of Buba Mballow and Alinda van der Kooi: two names, two worlds, one shared belief that everyone deserves education, food and care.
It started small, with a personal wish to give something back to the community in The Gambia. What began as scattered acts, a schoolbook here, a food package there, grew into something bigger. In November 2024 the dream became official: ABS Charity Foundation, a registered foundation under the Gambian Companies Act 2013.
From Kerewan Samba Sira in the Central River Region we support children with their schooling, help women in difficult times, and provide food, care and tools where needed. Our mission is clear: a community where every child can go to school, every mother is heard, and every family has a dignified foundation.
We believe help is only truly help when it arrives directly. That's why our board members receive no compensation, it's in our statutes, and that's how we keep it. Every euro that comes in goes to the people who need it most.
